Today we finished our research plan, and while I was frustrated with how repetitive things were I was a little more frustrated with Jessica. She did do more work than she has done in the past, but I also had to do a lot of prodding to get her to do work. I started to work on part D because she wasn’t in class yet and I ended up doing the majority of that part along with parts A and B. After we finished our research we started the annotated bib. I found a few good texts, but again I was frustrated that Jess didn’t look at texts she looked at grad cap designs.
Today we worked on our research plan again. Jess and I split the plan in two each getting to work on two parts. I finished part B and I was really annoyed with how repetitive it was, and the fact that it didn’t seem quite like a research plan but more of an extension of the proposal. I think the last part is more of a research plan having us create a timeline to help keep us on track and stating what we want to do. Today as I finished my part Mr. Schoenborn also went around discussing with us where we were at and when we were ready he would go over the annotated bibliography. This was fine, but I think he needed to also discuss what we would be doing with the sources and what types of sources we need.
Today we had to go to the office to talk with Liz about transportation to the nursing home(s) that we are going to. During school hours Jess wouldn’t be able to drive me there without having her and my mom fill out forms saying that it is okay. We also started to work on our research plan. I think that we have a pretty good handle on what we have to do. I kind of feel like each part is kind of repetitive though. Everything is stated multiple times throughout each part, but I guess it helps solidify what we are planning on doing and why.
Today Jessica and I discussed what we would do if our project wasn’t approved. We are wanting to hold a dance class with a group of elderly people. Someone that we were discussing out idea with shared a concern of what happens if they get hurt-who would be liable. If the administration does share this concern we are hoping to have a dance class at the adult day care for those with special needs in the community. I have talked with one of my dance teacher’s who is a nurse at one of the local homes and she loved my idea. I have yet to follow up with her but she did tell me that she would love for me to do this at the place she works. Hopefully Jess and I have our project approved so that we can keep moving forward.
